I decided that since I wasn't even vaguely using the functionality of PAP that I couldn't emulate by playing with layer opacities in GIMP, I might as well animate in GIMP so long as I was sticking to B&W scribbles i.e. until I get Flash up and running.

72 frames, 20fps. Each frame took me anywhere between 3 seconds and a minute to draw. I think it turned out okay- the main point was to work towards stylistic presentation and start playing with the balance between realism and punch.
