Where are my grass roots, damnit!?

This wasn't the picture I was intending to post initially, but it will do. I've tried to recapture some of that "splash it on" style that I've had, the ad hoc feel that gave things some life via imperfection. I'm not sure but this is an interesting learning process. Major difference here was disabling the "transparency" on the pen tool, which made a huge difference!

I've been really emo lately, or more appropriately just plain depressed. Life hasn't been going over so well and I *am* feeling rather lonely. But then that's common, so I'll just pull my head in and get on with it.

Even ninja have to take their masks off someday.

p.s. to those of you who don't know, I traditionally named this character Morgan, though he's more commonly known as strop these days. Morgan was the first anthropomorphic character I used as an avatar (I lie- second actually, but this one was the first online one), and as since I was trying to learn anatomy using myself as a reference his build and dimensions are the ones that most closely reflect my own...furthermore his muscle definition and bulk changed as mine did, haha xD

Hm... I hope I don't bump into him in a dark alley! :P
But on a serious note, awesome work, Straw :)
hey Coool a horse ninja! :ninja: there should DEFENTLY be more of them! :#1: (and not to mention a ninja-horse emote one could use as well! ;))
I wonder how that mask of his works when he has his neck hair outside of the mask ;P

and what nice looking but sketchy colouring style^^ the shading is also very nice =)

Thank you so much for the enthusiastic response- it's very heartwarming.

I have no idea how the mask works. I wasn't even thinking except to note that I would hate hair like that to be trapped under a mask! If I had to think about it now I would say it had splits up the back of it or something.

But really, that wouldn't be right anyway. Tell you what, I'll rework it properly because online I have this strange reputation for being a ninja pony...
hahah a ninja pony? how come pony and not horse?

well the mask could be tied together on the back with strings where hair comes out of the gaps.. or something like that..
oooor.. he could have a seperate lower face wrap and a upper wrap that covers his forhead and...
hehe.. well I'm just babling =P

Still cool picture I especially liked that extra touch with the text that actually had some meaning to it^^

I think I'll stick with the balaclava kinda thing, because then the mane shakes out when you remove it...omg, have I come down with bishie syndrome?
Oh yeah, I suppose ninja horse is more appropriate (I'm not a small guy) but people liked to call me strawpony because that sounds cuter than strawhorse =P
