I decided I needed to work A LOT on my lines, so I decided to do some practice doing random sketches and playing with styles. I think I'm coming along.

This is a decent reference sheet of Strop. Since I started drawing him (as Morgan), I've started resembling him more and vice-versa, so now this is a pretty accurate depiction. Except to say that I don't have long flowing hair...and I'm not some kind of horse guy...

The other feature I've brought up here is that the original strop is an archer. I've only ever tried archery twice in my life but I can say that like the one time I handled firearms, there was something about the 'stillness' that I admired in the practice of marksmanship. Better yet to me is the practice of stillness in movement, which is what interests me about certain aspects of parkour.

Which makes strop a ninja that specialises in archery. As you can also see, I picked very plain clothes because strop doesn't feel the need to create some kind of ornate characteristic standout dress, doesn't fight and should he ever have to he doesn't intend to use any protection. The limit of that would be his bandaged limbs to prevent sprains. This reflects my own ascetic tastes.

Funny story about the sketch in the middle- I may have mentioned wearing...no I didn't. A friend of mine had a 21st on Halloween and made it fancy dress. I happened to be one of the only people who actually turned up in fancy dress (so much for that idea), and I cobbled together a ninja costume, very similar to the one above. When I rocked up, nobody recognised me because I was wearing my facemask, which furthermore made eating, talking and even breathing very difficult.

Which begs the question as to why I went as a ninja if I intended to be social, duh.
